Pathway to Employment (up to two years)
The Pathway to Employment programme is designed for learners who want to move into paid employment after college but need time, experience and support to understand what work is right for them. It is a five-day-a-week programme, reflecting the reality of the world of work.
Learners develop the knowledge, skills and character needed for employment through a balance of:
Classroom-based learning
Extensive and hands-on work experience
Personalised support from specialist Job Coaches
The Pathway to Employment prepares learners for a Supported Internship where they specialise in a chosen sector or direct progression into employment, where appropriate.
Supported Internships (up to one year)
A Supported Internship is a one-year, workplace-based programme for learners who are ready to move into paid employment.
Placements are carefully matched to learner aspirations and local labour market opportunities. Learners are treated as employees and supported to meet real workplace expectations.
Interns spend five days a week in a real job role, supported by a specialist Job Coach and a trained workplace mentor as a final step of transitioning into the working world beyond education.
